Side-scrolling 3D Survival Shooter with AI-Physics and Deadly Machines
Deadly Labs is a side scrolling survival shooter with a highly dynamic environment. Lots of things can be shot, destroyed or thrown, causing randomness and a variety of playing experience. The player’s mission is to survive a certain time, defending a toxic Poison-Barrel, while the enemy characters try to blow up the place.
The physics engine was used to create a new balance system for the different enemy creatures, where they are trying to keep on their feet once they were hit. Most of the enemy animations will happen dynamically by balancing their ragdolls, so only a few static animations were made for them. You never know what’s going to happen!
Inside a secret laboratory in the middle of nowhere, a nuclear fluid was created, the strongest power source ever seen by mankind. Two scientists working on a giant robotic machine, powered by that fluid, supposed to change the world for good. One of the scientists however, seems to have other intentions. His evil influence twists their fate, bringing deadly creatures to life, in order to annihilate humanity. Can you survive?

After gathering a massive amount of experience from our first mobile title (which got cancelled shortly after its release), we’re now back with our second mobile game. “We” are two brothers living in Germany, developing games (and supporting game assets) with Unity since 2010. Actually we have a regular day job, not related to the gaming industry – developing games is what we do in our spare time!
We’ve grown up with computers, games, when the internet or smartphones became a thing, mostly doing our own stuff or graduating back then. The real passion for developing games, instead of playing them, has manifested itself at the time we started our shared “business” in 2013, with the goal of doing it full-time, some day. We’re not quite there yet – but with over two years of development, fun as well as frustration spent on this game (and every challenge around it), it might be one step in the that direction.
